Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for researching, preparing, and submitting grant applications to secure funding that supports our mission and programs. This role is critical to ensuring the financial sustainability and growth of Digital Waters. This is a part time, volunteer role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research:
- Identify and research potential grant opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources.
- Stay updated on current trends, guidelines, and requirements in grant funding.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive database of grant prospects.
- Proposal Preparation:
- Write, edit, and proofread compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports.
- Develop budgets and project plans in collaboration with program and finance teams.
- Ensure that all grant submissions are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Grant Management:
- Track and manage the grant application process, including deadlines, submission status, and follow-up activities.
- Maintain organized records of all grant-related documents and correspondence.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather necessary information and ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and submit interim and final reports to funders, detailing the progress and outcomes of funded projects.
- Monitor compliance with grant terms and conditions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the executive director, program managers, and other team members to align grant-seeking efforts with organizational priorities.
- Build and maintain relationships with funders, partners, and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Non-Profit Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in grant writing, with a successful track record of securing funding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Familiarity with grant application processes and funder requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software.
- Passion for environmental sustainability and community empowerment.
