Role Overview:
Digital Waters is seeking a dynamic and experienced Fundraising Manager to join our team. The Fundraising Manager will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising strategies to support our mission. This role involves designing membership packages, setting and achieving funding benchmarks, and ensuring our fundraising is in compliance with legal and tax regulations in Canada. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of non-profit fundraising, excellent communication skills, and a passion for environmental conservation. This is a part time, volunteer role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development:
- Enhance and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support Digital Waters’ mission and goals.
- Identify and create innovative fundraising opportunities, including ecommerce products and membership packages.
- Fundraising Execution:
- Manage all aspects of fundraising campaigns, including planning, execution, and evaluation.
- Set fundraising benchmarks and goals, track progress, and report on outcomes.
- Donor Engagement:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, and grant-making organizations.
- Develop and manage donor recognition programs to ensure ongoing support and engagement.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all legal and tax regulations related to non-profit fundraising in Canada.
- Prepare and submit required financial reports, tax documents, and fundraising records.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the Executive Director and other team members to align fundraising efforts with organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with marketing and communication teams to promote fundraising initiatives.
- Community Building:
- Engage with community members and volunteers to build a network of supporters.
- Organize and participate in events and activities to raise awareness and support for Digital Waters.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in non-profit fundraising, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong understanding of Canadian non-profit fundraising regulations, legal requirements, and tax implications.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative fundraising ideas.
- Proficient in using fundraising software and CRM systems.
- Passion for environmental conservation and commitment to the mission of Digital Waters.
